Why House Pigeons Make Great Pets

My first bird pet was a plain old barn pigeon who had been injured. One of the best pets I ever had.

@Serin Olive looks like princess from childrens' fairytale. She has so much charm, so much beauty. I've never seen such bird before.

@Birdbabe Snowpea looks like a queen. Especially on the second picture. Queen who is slightly offended but is too dignified to let you know directly. Hence the look. Very beautiful bird.

This is Snowpea, she has the the same " boof" on her head as your Olive ..the reason I say she has stinky poo is coz she let's off that big morning " bomb" after being in her sleep cage all night

Here,,,shes giving me the look coz I cleaned her nest.

I was going to mention that both Olive and Her Majesty both have what looks like an Elizabethan collar or a ruffle on the back of their necks. They're both gorgeous ladies.

The bird groomer I go to has a client who has a house pigeon that looks more like the rock or city pigeons one usually sees. I hadn't realized until I saw hers close-up that they have pretty intricate colouring on their feathers. The young lady's parents used to breed house pigeons and hers is the last surviving pigeon.
