So cute! In the early 90's I had a crimson Rosella "Simon" that could whistle the Mayberry theme too.

Thanks everyone. I am always questioning if I should really have TD. After all the research, I've learned what is considered the " minimal requirements" for a cockatiel to have a long and happy life. I fall short on most of them, mainly due to our chosen lifestyle of being full time RV'er's...of course, we didn't expect to be rescuing a cockatiel when we made that decision.

But, TD seems to be so happy. He is honestly the most joyful soul I've ever met. So, maybe all those minimal requirements I can't meet are made up for with my minimums...i.e., interaction with TD at least 10 full hours per day. I do feel much better now that we got him his new "Big House". Here's TD making up a song of his own. Normally he throws in a few "Da-Da-Da-Da"s from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and a few "Gimme a tickle"s. He only did this time when I hit the pause button. How does he know? I was outside... he couldn't even see me!

I am not sure if that's true, but thank you for saying it, John.
You can take that to the bank. An unhappy bird never sings.

TD only knows what he knows. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Awe he seems happy to me. Charile is the same way will sing up a storm when no ones around , I like to think Charile is happy . I definitely can’t give him all the time I would like too , but I provide him with toys and food and water and of course a clean cage. I give all the Love attention I can and he has to compete with Mrs sunny and two crazy dogs , but he seems happy enough. I think Johns right . Olny happy birds sing. I have never gone to a pet store and heard a bird sing, but best believe my Charile greets me everyday with a “ pretty bird “ or “ what you doing baby”. Your doing the very best you can for TD and I bet he’s one the happiest birds around.
