When one of my birds was ill my vet recommended that I give her cooked liver or chicken for extra protein.

Okay, wait. Let's back up to the meat thing some more.
Because I know my little dinosaur would LOOOVE to be able to rend more than his toys.... what kinds of meats, what quantities, bones are safe?

The little velociraptor thanks you in advance.

I remember the thread with bone marrow helping treat the greys with calcium deficiency disease (that and full spectrum lighting).

PS :backout:

I feed mine some cheese every day, some chicken leg bones ( my SO loves spicy chicken legs), and I am starting to add avian HPC to their soft food. I am sticking with cooked chicken as meat, and they will shred the bones anyway. they seem well able to handle the shards.
Protein in this form makes up less than 5% of their diet

Interestingly none of them learned how to do this. Therefore its innate. so are they hunting in the canopy?

Are wild gangs of caique bandits hunting chickens in the rainforest? lol

It's not just a caique thing either, Rainbow has mastered the art of stripping spicy chicken wings to a degree that has me impressed. It's like KFC for birds here on chicken wing day.
