We have a 130 lb mastiff/dane mix named Midnight, a chow/who knows what mix named Roadie, a lionhead rabbit named Simba, a pond full of about 25 large comets and our newest family member Beaker the Tag. They keep me busy!

We have my dog, George; he's a Miniature Schnauzer/Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher (50/25/25%). He's amazingly smart, and although he is very obviously jealous of the birds, he is very good and gentle with them.

I only have Noodle: 5 yo mitred conure, Sadie: 12yo GSD, and Monty 9 yo tuxedo kitty. I have had everything else in the past: mice, hamsters fish, guinea pigs, corn snakes, ball python, horses, rat, prairie dog, bearded dragon, iguanas, jeweled curly tail lizard, rabbits. I think that's it. I live in an apt now, but when I get my own house, look out!

@bjknight93 Did you train George special, or just luck out that he's sweet?
He's well-trained in the general sense, yes. But I didn't train him to be good with the birds. That's just his learned "instincts." He has a very high prey drive for animals OUTSIDE the house like wild rabbits, squirrels, rats, mice, etc. But he knows that animals inside the home are family just like him. He even plays with our neighbor's ferrets.

George is an unbelievably well-behaved and smart dog. I definitely have lucked out with him and will never have another like him.

We didn't even have the birds until he was 7 years old, so I didn't expect him to get along well with them. But Luna grew up around George, so he is very comfortable with him and will fly down and chew on his toe nails or collar tags. George just stands there and playfully wags his tail. I think I have a YouTube video of it, as well as of him playing with the ferrets; I will PM you it since it is against the rules to display unsafe situations. :)

I don't condone or encourage anyone to let their prey/predator species to interact, but for us it works. I don't expect any future dogs of ours to behave the way George does around the birds and other critters.

Aside from my birds I have twelve cats, all rescues. In October I had to put my Apache Cat to sleep; she was 17. My current cats range in age from 14 to four years old.
