Good job noticing the bad poo in the first place. This could have been overlooked and who knows what could have happened. Im happy the vet is helping you get your bird well. I hope he continues to improve:hug8:

Are we talking about the bird in your picture, the Black Palm Cockatoo or an African Grey? 1050 grams?

I was wondering that myself...1050 grms for an 11 week old Grey is really heavy!!!!! They get between 400 & 650 grms
About African Grey Parrots ~ Grey's World's Version
What worries me now is if this is the wrong weight and the vet has given meds for this weight..the bird could be in grave danger....
PLEASE re-check with your vet for the weight!!!
because medicine is given in ratio to what the bird weighs.:hug8:

ABDULLAH, this is a start for Miso. You could also try and sprout some seeds for him too...
Sprouting For Healthier Birds
HolisticBird and HolisticBirds
These would be seeds you would find at a health food store (do you have these where you live?)
Other seeds are the seeds you would plant in the ground (they have chemicals on them to promote sprouting in all different types of conditions and to keep mold from growing on the wet seeds). You don't want this type of seed for you or your birds to eat...
He also needs some greens in his diet along with fresh foods...

:lol:ok that sounds more like it. I just wanted to make sure we were talking about the correct species because my dietary suggestions were directed for an African Grey. I would limit the sunflower seeds, those are like candy for birds and very hard to break once they get hooked on them. I dont feed any sunflower seeds. Almonds and other nuts would be healthier than sunflower seeds. Carrots are also very good for Greys. Mango's are very good. As Billie Faye said, sprouting seeds too is very nutritious.

If Miso is being fed outdoors and you are considering adding sprouts to his diet, you will need to mindful of your daytime temperatures and remove any uneaten sprouts within an hour or so after giving to Miso, especially during warm weather or mold may develop, which you will not want Miso to eat.

Miso is at the perfect age to introduce him to all kinds of fresh vegetables and fruits. I would recommend broccoli, green peppers, carrots, papaya, apple, etc. I think it best to feed more fresh vegetables than fruits.

Please keep us posted on Miso's progress.

I am so happy that Miso appears to be getting better. Please keep us posted. Have any of your other birds been affected by these worms?

May I suggest that you contact the breeder. This may have been something passed by the parents, and there may be other people with babies from this clutch who should know. The parents need to be wormed too.
