I was wondering about other ringneck/other keet's owners and what their ringnecks/other keet's say, like how large is their vocabulary. What words can they say now? I would also love to see video's as they have the cutest voices :p Well Im sure we all would like to see video's.

I know all birds are different and some may never talk.

My Alexandrine, Alex(his name is so original:p) talks more and more everyday. He is camera shy so it's very hard to get a video of him. But Im trying :p

Anyways he says
"Hello" in different tones
"what's that"
"What" (I think this is his favourite atm :p)
"What ya doing"
"ohhhh"
"I don't know"
And he meows like a cat,
that's all that I can make out from him. He has other gibberish that I can't understand.

He like's to emphasize "What" when he say's it.

Once im able to get a video of Alex, ill post it here :)

My Other Alexandrine Yuki doesn't really say anything. She has tried to say hello (she's only about 7 months).

:heart::heart::heart:

My Indian Ringneck says some words, these are what I can remember off the top of my head:

“It’s alright”
“Come here”
“Boppy, come here, come on”
“Hello boppy”
“Step up”
“Emmy poo” (one of my Cockatiel’s he nicknamed, lol)
“Emmy boy” (another nickname)
“Leila”
“Good boy boppy”
“Good boy”
“Kisses for boppy”
“Oi”
“Hello Keiko”
“What”

Schubert says:
Schoo-bee-do-bee-doooooo!
I love you.
What's up?
Shake hands.
Give a kiss.
Good birdie.
That's my beak/got your beak.
Hi Herbie.
There.
Yum yum.
Hiiiiii!

Any and all combinations of the above - I love it when he talks human (which he does more than birdie talk). Unfortunately, once the camera comes out he clams right up (how do they know?).

Titan,our IRN,has a short list of words:
HI
MORE
KISS
OKAY
THANK YOU
Many years ago, he didn't like being covered up at night. After you covered him up, he would say "••••••• it". If he could see out from underneath the cover, he would look right at you, and say "••••••• You"...with the word "you" drawn out. Thankfully, he hasn't said it for many years ...

That's like alex.
I was able to get a video of him meowing, but I had to hide the camera. He does human talk almost every morning and every night.

That is so cute! How old are they when the usually start talking. My IRN Henry is about 18 months old but doesn't talk. I have heard him saying gibberish a few times when I was not in the room and sometimes he moves his beak like he wants to talk but doesn't. Maybe he is just shy.

My humble opinion- talking in avians is VASTLY overrated, in particular, by avian non-owners. My example would be Laverne. "Nonverbal", but I would bet everything that you can tell what's going on with her in other ways, that non-owners wouldn't, or couldn't, understand...

Hi Dana,

That's a shame that your IRN hasn't started talking yet. I was told that they usually start talking between 8 - 12 months old.

To our surprise Charlie started at about 7 months. He started with "what ya doing?" and very very quickly picked up more phrases. He's now about 9 months and says:

"Gimmie Kiss......mwaaaa"
"Wana tickle?"
"What ya doing charlie?"
"Good Boy Charlie"
"Peek-a-boo"

More recently he's picked up my partners laugh.
