I'm so sorry. I do know exactly what you mean, two of mine are 17-years-old and I hug them lots.

My fiance's cat Jalalabad was diagnosed during an emergency vet visit with cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), hyper thyroid, a severe arrhythmia, and diabetes. We did 2 months of insulin to correct the diatbetes before we lost him to a saddle thrombus. It was sudden and unexpected as well because we were hoping we could control the diabetes and we would be ok. My deepest sympathies. :sadhug2:

I am so very sorry Terri :sadhug2::sadhug2::sadhug2:
You are so right they do hide their illness. Last year we lost our Maxi when I was away in WV, and it broke my heart that I didn't even get to say goodbye :(

If you have a cat or cats, love them while they are here because tomorrow they could get fatally ill. The vet said cats also hide illness![/quote]

You are so right. We lost one of ours so suddenly and unexpected that we cried for days. Remember all the joy she brought to your lives and learn to smile when you think of them. It gets better and now we smile when we think of him.

Sorry for your loss, Terri. How awful it is to lose a dear friend, legged, feathered, furry or other. These wonderful creatures we take in and offer a share of our lives, they take that share with them when they leave us. It leaves a huge hole not easily refilled. Lots of hugs on the way :hug5:

Oh Terri...I'm really sorry for your loss dear...I've been there and had
to make that decision also...though it was years ago, I still feel it in my
heart. My dear cat Mio was with me for 19 years!! & it was just too many
complications and he had no quality of life..even still, It was a very
difficult decision for me to make..he passed in my arms...:hug8:
