With Wasabi it seems that all you need to do is exist to qualify for a bite. Some day you need to bite him back and see what he thinks of that. He's a poophead.

I wish there was some way we could send Wasabi on a vacation to our house for a week...like overnight camp...so you could decompress for a bit. I'd send Milton, the love sponge to you, so you wouldn't feel lost without a large birdie fix..

I had the nerve to take him to his upstairs quarters so his yelling won't get on hubby's nerves as he tries to work. W doesn't mind going up at all. He does mind if I am the one who takes him, but it can't be helped sometimes.

Omg I see some things never change! His name for sure fits with that biting wasabi sauce! Glad to see he's still the same old wise guy.

When I first got Lurch the lady who had him was amazed he allowed me to touch and scratch him. I took him home without incident, even stopped by lil sisters house so she could meet the new Maxi she helped me get, no problems.
When we got home I put him on Nerds old play stand and he was happily getting a scritch under the chin when he had a thought and whipped around and tore a chunk off my finger and started birdy swearing at me. I never saw it coming and he definitely didn't give any warning I could detect after having Nerd bird, another Maxi, for 31 years.
He was mad and scared to death and I got lots of bites till we slowly became friends. He did start to give warnings again once he decided they worked and he cared for me. He never did stop biting entirely, it was a feature of who he was and I accepted the occasional pop for the most part as part of gaining his trust though trust me we had a few bad talks over time.
Hopefully someday Wasabi will become more like the loving and trusting Lurch, rather then the bite now and ask questions later version he was at first. Hang in there I think somewhere he likes you just a bit but just doesn't want to let his guard down

Thanks, between work, birds, and life I have plenty. At leasy Dobbys worst bite so far has been ferocious beakings and one very hard pinch when I knew I should have left him alone. Every bird I've had has been their own individual even though most of them have been Maxis.

I must live in bird heaven. I can't even remember a bad bite here. I think I had one by Hoosier. Kazoo has nipped a few times never like you have but I do gave a tiny scar where Hoosier got me that time. Jenny, she never ever bites. Going on 3 years she is the sweetest Too!:fairy3:

I've never been so much as nipped by Amanda. She has never bitten anyone in 12 years. She is a wonderful bird (except for the eggs). Her sidekick makes up for it in spades.
