yes its for real the vets dont know if the cats ate the snakes and then they crawled back out thru the nose or if the snakes just crawled into the noses.

That is completely bizzare! If the cats ate the snakes, the snakes would show injuries so that's not a likely theory.

i have to agree with you but what im wondering is maybe the snakes just crawled up the cats nose while they was sleeping or something i mean if the snakes are blind then they wouldnt know where they was going in the first place and like they say snakes do tend to look for warm places

That gives me the heebies, and I'm a snake lover. I did a search for more info, and found a video on youtube of that exact scenario from a couple years ago. Apparently it's not an uncommon thing to have happen.

Anyone else itchy looking at those? -scratches-

:omg: I wonder how that could happen? I agree if eaten they would be chewed up, but what cat would sleep through a snake crawling up it's nose either? Maybe they ate something with an egg or baby snake in it? Freaky!!

I didn't expect to see those pictures. I thought I was just going to see snakes which don't frighten or gross me out in the least.

Do the snakes go in the entire way? What kind of snakes are these, and where is this happening so I can avoid these snakes? Is it normal or usual behavior for these snakes to crawl into other animals? I can't imagine that noses are that snake's habitat or its normal place for obtaining food.

How bizarre!!! So this only happens to cats... not dogs?

Blind Snakes are found in Australia. :) They look almost exactly like Earthworms and they are often mistaken for them. They come in shades of pink all the way through to shades of grey. They behave in very much the same way as Earthworms too.

These guys are harmless and can't bite at all. To top it off, they aren't venomous. :highfive: They eat termites!

They burrow under soil and their normal habitat is under rocks or piles of rotting leaves or soft soil etc. They aren't very common and I've only ever seen one in person.
