We're trying to make arrangements to visit to OK shelter, but our current schedules would put us there around 6 pm on a Saturday at the earliest and I haven't heard back yet whether that will be acceptable. I just keep telling myself when it's meant to be things will happen more smoothly. Maybe Matilda is meant for another family and our bird just hasn't arrived yet.

I know the right bird will happen for us. It's just hard to realize that more effort doesn't necessarily mean more results. I guess that's true of anything, though. Doesn't mean we'll stop looking or trying. We just have to be ready when it happens.

It was me, I had some messaging between myself and Faislaq but I'm not sure they felt Abby is the bird they are looking for. All is well.

It's official. The position has been filled... big time.

We were contacted by an amazing family to adopt their even more amazing G2. She is not your typical rehome as she's never been abused or neglected and was spoiled & loved by her family, but they are not always able to be home with her so they wanted to find her a home where she could have even more attention.

Now my husband has found his heart bird. She bites me occasionally, harasses me regularly and is a complete angel to him. She is also great with the kids. Miss Luv Bug is a perfect fit.

Thank you to everyone who encouraged us in our search. There was a little white reason none of the other birds panned out.

You are totally correct...I do believe that there is a reason for everything that happens in our lives. Call it destiny, fate, kismet, whatever you want.

He can unclip them faster than I can clip them to his cage but he LOVES them.

That's the name she came with & my husband doesn't seem inclined to change it, though it's been less than a week and I've already called her Hole Punch (she is incredibly fast at making holes in shirts), White Witch, and Equinsu Ocha (white devil). Like I said, she's perfect. And now I can play with my big blue chicken shamelessly.

Thanks a ton for the tips! She doesn't like bright colors on her cage, but she's fine with them outside her cage so maybe I could make a necklace out of them & give our poor shirts a break.

Congrats on getting the Goffin's. Have to agree with what @sunnysmom posted. Goffin's are VERY mechanical and excellent lock picks. Make sure that the cage is very secure. Keno's original cage had to be padlocked on every door and she recently unscrewed the screw of the breeder door on her current cage and lifted the door up and off the bars so it was opened. Had one padlock on the bottom of the door and have now added one on the top. Good toys for Goffin's are those they need to figure out how to turn/twist, open/close, etc. in order to get treats.

I think she has done more to heal his heart in less than a week than anything else this past year. And I am happy, too, because she's naughty like Pistachio was and makes my husband happy. What more could I want?

I've added her to the "All Aboard -- Cockatoos" thread in the Causeway for now and I'm sure our darling diva will be the topic of more than one thread from us.:ballerina:

I have one clear foraging wheel for her and just ordered a bunch of shredding toys during the SWS. But you're right, she's been trying to unscrew my earrings all day! Now I wish I'd have ordered more puzzle toys. Now I see Avian Stainless isn't taking new orders right now, so I'm scrambling to find some elsewhere. And we are assembling the cage we bought tonight so she can start playing on it to get use to it. It is supposed to have "bird proof locks", whatever that means.
