Walked past the bedroom window this morning in time to see a pair of fat coyotes trot down the street. Mentioned it to the wife. Pretty soon, she calls from the other room "come and look at this."

Next door was the following...

I will avoid showing a photo of what was drawing the scavengers into the lot next door. It's a pretty graphic example of nature in motion.

I've never seen a vulture close up in real life..........they are big, I guess. Quite an experience.

Ever since we adopted Buzzard, I've been more aware of real buzzards and vultures; trying to see the beauty in them and understand them more. :shrug3: Weird, I know, since they have nothing to do with my handsome fella aside from his name.

I do love the wing tips of any bird in flight, though. Just gorgeous no matter what their mug looks like! :fly2:

They're beautiful in flight though not so attractive in photos. They are, however, Nature's garbage collectors and an excellent example of how nature works. National Geographic had an article a year or so ago about how vultures were being poisoned by farmers trying to kill four legged predators. The result was that there was an increase in the rodent population and also in rabies.

Turn! Turn! Turn!

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven

Each and every creature has a reason and a purpose on earth though not everyone believes that or can see it.

Beautiful pictures, I am so curious about what they are feasting on though. They are rather fascinating creatures.

Ah! So that's where you hide the bodies. Too bad the Coyotes and Vultures gave away your secret hiding spot. Hint, next time bury them deeper. At least it would make it a little more difficult to find.
