Since I'm about to go to college in a year, now's not the time for me to have a parrot. I want hands-on experience and I've heard that a great way to get started with parrots is to volunteer at a sanctuary. As it happens, my local animal sanctuary is looking for volunteers to care for their parrots. Thoughts? Any advice/words of caution?

I think that’s a great idea! Be prepared to deal with birds who are stressed out- (Ive never done work at a bird sanctuary but from volunteering at dog shelters, I can tell you that you’ll need to be careful! Because you’ll want to take everyone home, haha!!) but either way, I’m sure that it would only benefit them to have another person to socialize with :3!!

Great idea! They likely need your attention the most.
