I just bought a 2lb bag this past weekend. I figure would be a great additive for the days I can devote to preparing in morning. From reviews I see people say it takes longer than 15 minutes to prepare. Have you all tried it. I was looking through the ingredients and they are all things I can pick up at local Sprouts store. Has anyone made their own version

I usually nuke some water 'till almost boiling, then add the Birdeez.
It soaks while I have Breakfast. Then I make sure it is cooled before serving. The grains and lentils are not fully cooked but tender.

Thank you.
Have you prepared the night before and kept in fridge til you can feed in morning? Just curious if that is an option. If not, that's cool as I can just give on days off

Yes, I do make it ahead ocassionally and serve it the next day. I warm it up a bit or let it get to room temp.

I use this from time to time as a dinner addition. My guys enjoy the Volkman Soak and Simmer a little more, but that takes an overnight soak and two hours to cook. The Birdeez is what we call their quick and easy mix.

I just bought a bag of the 15 minute Soak and Serve. The mix has a lot of white rice in it. It is a little different than what I am used to.
Did your bag have a lot of white rice in the mix?

I usually use the 15 minute soak and simmer but just got this delivered today. I would guess that it works the same way. I boil the water first in the microwave and let it sit until the water has been absorbed.

Ella likes the Volkman Birdeez Buffet, I microwave for two mins and let it sit for 15 mins. She gets it a couple times a week for variety.

The Birdeez Buffet 15 Minute Soak and Serve has a main ingredient of brown rice (it does look pretty pale to be honest).

There used to be more grain with husks on it. So to see the naked rice grains looked different to me. Birds love the mix though.
