So I am back to square one with Van. The hole opened back up in his face. He is not in as bad a place as he was at first. But I have to try something else to treat. I went to The Central Florida Koi Show yesterday, and picked up a couple treatments.{going back today with my camera} I moved Van into a ten gallon qt tank. I will treat with this product called Pro-Treat from KaiZen Aqua for seven days.One is Para Pro~ A couple older fellows at the show thought it could possibly be a parasite. I am not convinced of that, but purchased it anyway just in case, or for future use. The other is called Pro Treat, which is for severe bacterial infections. I added the Pro Treat. Seven day treatment. Wish me luck. If this doesn't work there are a few other options.

Thanks again everyone. I spent a few hours this weekend at The Central Florida Koi and Goldfish show that was in town. I got to talk to some very well respected people who believe in a product line that was being sold at the show. So I purchased it. We are going to give this a go and see how it works. Hopefully it will heal him for good this time.

Oh no, so sorry to hear he's having problems again, Carol.

Van is doing well. But it looks worse. I was told that the black is a good sign, but there is a lot of it now so it looks scary. I changed out his water 100% yesterday and added new salt and meds. I can't wait for him to be well and go back to his friends. It is depressing to see an 8" + fish in a 10 gallon tank. But it is better to manage the water this way.
I have high hopes, as this has to be the strongest fish I have ever seen, for what he has been through.
