Thank you all again. I have some new pics with the new camera. @Dotty4 she is at least 8" and Charlie the lavender ranchu is 7". But to me, Charlie is the bigger fish because his body is longer. Vanessa is all tail. :dance55:

Getting ready for injection #3

I wait for her to be calm

Calm

See the light colored part on the body just under the dorsal? That is where I hit her with the needle.I slip the needle under a scale, so no scale loss.

Weird question, but do you think they can feel the injection? Like painwise?

I think fish do feel pain, although science says otherwise. I would like to ask the scientists...were they a fish in a previous life? I don't think it is significant in this case. Just like a good injection vs. a crappy one. Haven't you even been shot and say "that's it?" I am very slow and gentle.

I think they do too, after all they still have brains and at least basic instincts/emotions. and its very rarely I dont feel a shot, but sometimes someone extra gentle comes around. I don't think I could ever do it, my hands shake a lot

You are an amazing person. :hug8:
You care more for your fish than many people do their dogs and cats. Even people who call themselves animal lovers consider fish to be disposable.

I hope she recovers.

she truly is a gorgeous fish!! i had never heard of injections for fish before. When I had my betta Kingsley and he got sick I went around to vets to ask for a consultation and they all laughed at me...

What a good fishy kom you are. Vanessa (pretty name for a pretty fish) has the best chance, thanks to you. Wishing her a speedy recovery. I too, have never heard of giving fish injections
