Does any one have a really long pool cleaning net by chance in the area or something that telescopes long enough to reach him so he can step up on it? Strap a favorite treat on it maybe, it would probably just scare him if the hard hat scared him. Just thinking out loud.....

He will come down when hungry enough..but maybe not there.

Our amazon has gotten out 3 times over the years (slaps forehead) and ALWAYS landed in someone else’s yard a few miles away. It helps to go ahead and tell neighbors to be on the lookout. They usually go to birdseed.
In fact, forget pellets..get some seeds or whatever his fave *junk food* is.

This is so sad, did she fly still in the military base?

When my cockatiel was loose last summer it was four days before she came home. Even then, she couldn’t fly down, but she landed on a neighbors roof, so I was able to get closer to her. She kept making wider and wider circles away from our house. Sounds like what Ozzie might be doing. It’s teally hard to spot them sometimes up in the trees. Playing the owners voice and sounds from any other birds that they have is a great idea. I think the bucket truck is the best bet, but they need to break the rules and ditch the hard hat. Maybe bring a perch and treats up in it next time. I’m sure Ozzie’s owner must be so frustrated that she can’t go in and help. I hope they find her soon and get her back safely!

Does Ozzie have a buddy? If so, try taking his buddy over (caged obviously) and see if he'll come down for him.
Best advice. :)

And sometimes you need to do what ever it takes to get them down. And that can be that you are scaring them to fly away to another place and hopefully they fly away to a better place.
If they place Ozzie's buddy on the ground a bit (not to near) from that three, they can scare him from the opposite direction. And hopefully he will fly to his buddy.

I’ll text them tonight if they want me to escort them on the base. We can take the other bird with us tomorrow

Lots of good ideas.
I wonder if Ozzie is afraid of towels. Perhaps a towel over his head to hide the hardhat if he gets to try again?
My guys are used to both towels and shower caps on my head. They hate baseball caps tho.

i have to check with my branch head. think i can't escort them because i don't know them. their neighbor who works on base escorted them today. in fact that's how they knew where ozzie had gone off to!
