Saria is molting and I've noticed that she has a little purple around her crop and on her head. Is this a thing? Once she finishes her nap I'll post a picture.

How old is Saria, and is she DNA tested? The reason I ask is because that looks a little like a ring coming through - young birds and adult females don't have them. Males only develop the ring as adults. Having said that, I don't have ringnecks myself and have only met feral ones, so may be completely off!

She's a year old and was tested before I got her, usually females get very light rings.

I have noticed some color variations after molting a few different colors. They seem to even out later.

Quite correct.

I've seen female ringnecks with very delicate ring coloring...very beautiful, in a understated way. This could be what you're seeing with Saria...

And yes, she's beautiful...:)
