Ok...I bought some to help with Dim & his bad leg. How do I go about this? How much to use, how often, how to use it? I've seen numerous things about using this for a broad range of animals & problem helpers.
I want to use this for my dog too. How do I do that?

Is it powdered? I know that its anti-inflammatory and its potent. I use for myself for my arthritis, but the taste is strong, even with the tiniest pinch. So I would find holistic vet and ask them.

Tumeric root looks like ginger root...I'd feel safer with the real thing.

Using powder is not as good as using the root. I think that is what @camelotshadow meant.

Root is natural & not heated or dried so has the & most active ingredients & I think just safer to administer if she will chew it.

You can find fresh turmeric in health food grocery stores. Looks like a narrower version of ginger.

It almost looks like a really really tiny sweet potato. I bought some the other week from the supermarket to try, it smells awful so I think I would rather use the powdered form in future. The powdered form does not smell horrid, but the root is so strong it is very pungent. I think most things in powder form have a lot of the flavor and potency removed through the drying process. This is why a lot of herbal remedies will only work if the herb is fresh.
As with everything, fresh will always be the best option.

Yes it is powder. Do you know how dosage works/goes?
Sorry I don't know the dosage, I have given it to Bebe tiniest pinch, he didn't eat any of it or his food that morning.
