Okay, here's a bunch of pics of many of the toys I've made. I hope they help inspire others! And you'll inspire me back! Because I've got a bit of a Toy Block right now....

My hens would love that second toy with the finger traps, but I avoid them because it sends them into nest mode

You have definitely inspired me! I think I´ll place an order next month with a UK supplier for some colourful wooden parts and fly over and pick them up

Fortunately Aoife doesn't do that (yet.) She seems to be trying with the pieces she chips off the popsicle sticks though. She will take one to her cardboard tube, but they always get knocked out, so no nest. She'll even fly with them in her beak!

Obviously, I really like rainbow toys. She always drops pieces in her water and then the dye leaks. I buy 99% from Ca Bird Nerds though, so I know they're safe.

That is how Personatus nest. Roseicollis tuck it in their back (or with paper/card create the iconic paper tail)

Wow Leih, those are some great toys you made! Unfortunately, my idea of toy making is giving a finger trap to Georgie and no creation.Oh well I guess I can keep dreaming about making great toys for her! I bet your birds really enjoyed your toys!

My zoo does keep me busy....

I usually am making them while I'm hanging out with them in the bird room. I can't do anything but hang with them when I'm in here, but it gives them one on one time.

That's how it would have been with my caiques. They loved watching me fiddle with their toys, moving them and changing them. They would jump into the supply box. Not so much for Gigi lol. Seriously leave her stuff alone. Really. I switched out her boings and swing the other day and she went back into her cage afterward and stayed there, for hours, with her door open, standing guard.

Yes, Aoife likes to help me make toys. It can be.... Frustrating But seeing how much they love them makes me happy.

Very nice! I just cut some yucca today and was trying to think what else I could put with it. Mind if I borrow your design? They’re all so creative Unfortunately I am NOT a creative person...

I had to remove Jo’s fave swing today- just to clean it. He jumped on it as I was removing it! I swear the look I got said “You are NOT removing this human!”
So I ended up just wiping it as good as I could with a napkin, while Jo stayed on the entire time lol. I’ll have to get it out tomorrow when he’s out of the cage I guess
