I rarely grab my professional gear for images of Layla but have 100's of snaps on my iPhone 7 plus. Thought I'd grab the good camera for a short Layla session before it got too hot here. She makes for a perfect model. Hope nobody minds me sharing a few from our mini session

No photoshop to the background. It is a large aperture 85mm lens shot at f/1.8 to get that compression.

She's gorgeous!! She beautifully pops out of the scenery because of her color of feathers. Do you happen to know what's the name of your camera?

I still have spent more on glass then I have on my first DSLR or my later upgrade. I have 4 lenses now, a 28-105, 100-300, and the 55-250 and 18-55 kit type image stabilized lenses that come with the various Canon packages.
The first two were excellent condition used ef lenses with 7 blade and usm focus motors, and the kit lenses actually take great shots for the money they cost. The stabilization really helps with many shots and they have great bokeh like your shots have if that's what it's called.

Thanks everyone. photography has been my profession for about 11 years. I owned a retail children's portrait studio for most of that time specializing in working child models and newborn portraiture. I closed that down to focus on real estate photography which I do now. I've been through canon pro bodies, Nikon pro bodies, and now use a Sony mirrorless full frame for portrait work and a Sony mirrorless crop sensor for my real estate work. I've owned countless lenses almost always prime lenses to maximize sharpness and wider apertures. This lens is the zeiss Batis 85mm 1.8 and these were all shot wide open. I keep my portrait equipment for personal stuff now that I'm getting paid for house shoots as opposed to portrait work.
