Urgent Today's rescue

Went out to put water for the birds, saw this baby Gila woodpecker all sprawled out in the driveway..thought he was dead! As I picked him up, he opened his eyes and squawked at me,,yay! He was so hot and dehydrated..


I've given him Sub Q fluids three times, since he absorbed it so quickly

Hes a fighter! Bit the crap out of me, more fluids and a little baby bird formula, will watch him through the night , and off to Liberty wildlife in the morning !

I just fed junior some scramble egg a bit ago..since my flashlight bug hunting didnt go well,..I did find a few baby lizards,, but that's a no go..hes full and hydrated , now sleeping,,Liberty opens at 8 am tomorrow.

He is so fricking cute. My parents lake home dad rescued a little woodpecker that fell out of the nest in tree. Mama got him in the head protecting the rest of tge brood.
