Hi all!
I am new here and I am also new to the whole bird-owning thing. I have done A LOT of research but am still in need of tips. I just got an 8-week-old Swaison's Blue Mountain lorikeet; the only problem is, it doesn't want to eat independently. Any tips?

What have you been offering?

I have been giving it Necton lorikeet food mixed with baby growth supliment. It has gotten better about eating throughout the day, as I used a different bowl, but it still won't eat without my help.

Thanks! Axie & Frankie

What are you offering it so it can eat on its own?

If I understand correctly, Lory's and Lorikeets need a nectar diet with fresh fruits and greens as their primary diet.

Maybe, baby isn't ready to wean yet,,you just got him yesterday, so he's flipping out in a new environment,,give him what he wants to eat, even if you need to hand feed. He will wean in time. Time and patience.:hug8:
