This is Very Sad

For a greater part of my life there have been Hooping Cranes in Maryland. Thanks to the powers that be in this country the cranes will be shipped off to a new home and no longer be the focus of scientific study.

In the newspaper article I read one of the scientist that has been working with the cranes for 30 plus years said the group may never breed again because of the change.

While this is sad this is not their natural breeding grounds. We have a whooping crane population in Wisconsin that has been managed too. That is also not their natural breeding grounds. The surviving natural flock breed in Canada and winter in Texas
