So today Buddy finally started talking again. Every time Danny or I walked away from her, she did a deeper (range, not volume) of her "uh-oh" call. She's eating and drinking on her own, and she's very mobile (but wobbly). She's also up to 85 grams, and could probably stand making up to 90. So we've gone from being told that she probably won't make it, to wondering when the non-stop flock calls start up again.
Talking about it today, Danny and I discussed how horrible it would have been if we had put her to sleep. I'm glad we stuck with a second opinion, and with our belief that it was better to let nature take its course than to force the issue.
So we're back to normal Buddy updates. On another note, she's now spending a bunch more time destroying her toys. She had been ignoring them for ages. Part of it might be that we've confiscated her perches until she's climbing like a champ, so she when she's in her cage, she's stuck on the floor. We also stopped leaving her cage door open, so she's forced to entertain herself with what she has around her. Poor little brat--she's gotta use the toys we spent all that money on. LOL
