Tail Touching?

Does your macaw enjoy its tail being touched? Or merely tolerate it? Or perhaps gets in a fury when its tail is even accidently brushed?

I'm just curious as I know some do and some do not. Mera loves her tail touched.

I don't think she cares one way or the other but I don't do too much of that.

It depends. Some day Maximo doesn't care at all some days he will kind of give me 'the look'.

Elvis does not like it at all, but she'll allow a brief preening if I give her treats.
Zoe doesn't mind.
Patrick doesn't like being touched anywhere except the beak.
Max doesn't mind, if it's brief.
Sonny doesn't like being touched anywhere except the beak.

I would lose digits if I attempted to do that with Precious or Emmett.

Sam wouldn't care but I don't since it is a sensitive spot to be messing around with.

Simba does not mind at all if you touch his tail, But I am wondering if that will change as he gets older or is just because he is still young?

I run my hand down Chaos's tail all the time, I straighten feathers, and clean off any 'poo' leavings.

He really isn't that happy about it, and will at first give me a 'look', but that's all he ever does. I think he's just so used to me messing with it, he's never thought about stopping me.

Mine both love it, they love to be touched anywhere. Paco cannot be touched anywhere but his head and neck, as he is a horny little devil and we don't want to confuse him.

Anna, Kita and Quito all let me, they don't seem to mind at all.... I have never really thought about it, I have always touched their tails...
But Capri.... she doesn't like to be touched... anywhere.... but if she lets me touch her, it is usually the tail that she lets me touch.... the only one of mine that doesn't loooove head scritches, but I am working on that!!!!!!!

I can't say if he enjoys it or not, but he certainly doesn't mind it at all and never reacts when I do it.

No caws here, but the SC does not like the tail touched. I never touch it really on purpose, but he is all over me. He's on me, under my chin, in my shirt and under the blanket. Inevitably, when he's moving around on and in these favourite places of his, he accidentally bumps or brushes his tail. He blames me me of course & gives out his reprimand squawk and then gets back to what he was doing.

Elmo seems to enjoy it - he normally stops what he's doing and fluffs up for a scritch if i'm playing with his little stub of a tail.....

My guys deffinately don't like it. I think mostly because Scrapr (my Red Front) will grab anyones tail he can get and litterally hang from their tails like tarzan. I guess it's his way of getting payback since the bigger guys will chase him off the perches any chance they get.

Both Lola & Moses Love their tails being touched, pet, preened and fanned out! Lola especially. She will put her tail in your face for you to separate her feathers and play with them. Moses is more picky, he loves for me to touch his tail and every where else on him but no one else. Lola will sometimes grab Moses's tail and pull it and obviously he doesn't like that!! But they both like their tails being touched.
