Strange bird behavior

Hi all,
We have our sweet Teddy bird who is still under 1 year old. He has one strange thing that he does. He will land on my hand and lick my thumb. He's done it a few times now...
Any ideas?

He likes your thumb a lot and he trying to get it to reciprocate. How does he react to your thumbs and fingers during normal activities? I know when I hand treats to my birds my thumbnail is always on top and can be mistaken for a beak.

Remember not only are their tongues used for tasting, but it is also used as a finger for moving seed husks, touching things, preening things. If you have any moles your bird will most likely try to touch it and maybe even bite ! They like to explore, and they claim you as their personal playground. If he bites your nail discourage.
