I have never regret that day I rescue her.
Not even consider the pain I felt for my nearly passed Eloy when I had to travel to another country to get her home.
I don't think I have ever being so sad for bringing a new family member home. But all that love that she needed helped me a lot.

Baby Pi's have a special sound when they are terrified over something. (it's like: Don't hurt me - I'm just a baby) I heard Eloy made that sound once on the first day here, but I never heard Akela made that sound once. (and she was not tame, parent raised in big aviary)
Eliy did that sound every time I got near her, but at the same time she wanted to be with me. That sound is heart breaking to hear a tame bird doing that is not a baby.
Because you know that someone had done something really bad to her.

When I look at the first pics I have of her and look at her today I see two different birds. That's why I always recommend people that rescue the bird that needs it the most.
You will never regret that because they give so much love back when they start to trust you.

This is so true. When I went to go pick up my baby, who I renamed Emery, there was a girl who lived there with her. She wasn't her owner. I was obviously a complete stranger to Emery when I went to get her, but she didn't hiss or lunge at me at all. I even held her. I was told by Emery's previous owner when I was there, that the girl who was living there too hated her. How you could hate such a sweet, intelligent little gem of a bird, I cannot understand. Anyway, as soon as she got near Emery, Emery lunged as hard as she could, and hissed as loud as she could at the girl. I knew then that the girl was abusing her, and I couldn't get Emery out of there and away from her soon enough. The drive home felt so good because I knew she would never be able to hurt her again.

I have pictures like that of Lurch. He was so scared his eyes were HUGE, later by a while his eyes were soft and happy. It certainly is special when you earn their trust and they are happy when you're around.

I felt the same. And I swore that from now on I should do everything I can to keep her safe.
