 I just imagined you, quite vividly. I cannot stop laughing.
With this song is another funny story, but I'm afraid that it will not be as funny in English as it is in Polish. The last part (tally me banana), sounds roughly like in Polish they gave me banana. When Edgar started to talk and he wasn't talking clearly, I thought I'm imagining things. I told my husband that I think Edgar is talking, but I'm not so sure. And he looked at me and said: so you do not know if he is speaking Edgar or they gave me banana (refering to the song which sounds like something understandable in Polish but is not). It is much funnier in Polish because of playing with words. Difficult to explain in English.

Ewwww, gross. But I do the same.:hehe: Plus making sounds and repeating: it is soooo good. Sometimes I behave like crazy person just to encourage Edgar to eat something I believe he should.

OH YES, I've done that too. I've even mushed it out on my lips and sucked it back in with all kinds of lip smacking yum yum sounds, all to no avail.

You know what? I think if someone who doesn't know about parrots read this, they would surely think that we are a bunch of lunatics.:hehe: Fortunately we know better and we understand that nothing is too much for our fids and we are reasonable, carring parronts.

I believe he's actually stuck his tongue onto it a couple of times but then spits it out and shakes his head violently.

    I do the opposite.
I hide it and say: - You can't have it, it's mine.
When they enter my shoulder for having some, I pretend I don't see them "stealing" some.
So who is the smartest now?

When I was first getting Gus interested in eating fruits and veggies, I had a similar problem, where he refused to eat anything but pellets. I didn't want him to starve, so I mixed some pellets in with the day's offerings, but I made sure they got juice on them. For fruit, that's generally pretty easy. e.g. I'd give him a couple orange slices and squeeze OJ onto the pellets too. For veggies, I'd boil them a bit and pour some of the veggie broth onto the pellets.

I figured that way he had no choice but to get used to the flavors, even if he didn't like the textures, plus he'd get a few extra vitamins in his system.

It worked and he now eats fruits and veggies quite happily. However, he also came to LOVE soggy pellets. He now dunks his evening pellets in his water bowl, lol.

    Ha ha...that's a good approach.
Parrots have the mentality that it's "Mine".
They think...if it's yours it's really mine, if you put it down, it automatically becomes mine. If I can't have it I'll want it even more!

One special drink coming up! Ummm I don't put umbrellas in it, instead use tail feathers from the parrots when they drop. Stirred, not shaken.

Perfect. And who cares about umbrellas? Feathers are way better.

Yes they are.....over the years I have saved feathers from all my birds. When they molt, and that, I saved a huge box of colorful feathers.
Thinking of doing something framed and artistic. Many of the feathers are from my birds that passed away of old age... I still have a part of them always!
