So I ordered a new cage for an incoming somebirdy.

I THOUGHT I ordered one JUST LIKE Duckie's which is 24" by 42".

But NO. I just received it, and it is 18" by 30". It looks QUITE a bit smaller.

I thought for sure they sent me the wrong one, but when I checked my order, no. That was exactly the one I ordered, and SOMEHOW did not double check that I was ordering the correct size. How I missed it, I have no idea. :fly2:

By the way, it is the SAME PRICE as the larger size. Ughhhhhhh.

So I'm off to order another one.

That's all. I think this is what they call a "first-world" problem. Complaining over.

Oh man... I can stew over things like this for awhile. So just tell yourself it's not the end of the world, and go on. That seems to help.

Or can you use it as a stand in another room and leave the door open?
Can you use it for when you want to take them outside?
:chin: Those are both excellent ideas! I will consider. :)

OOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR

 get  the  bird
 GET  THE  BIRD
ONE IS ON THE WAY!! BUT NOT TWO!! :whip:

(for now anyway) ;)

OKAY OKAY! I am trying to keep things a secret so that I can "announce" her when the time comes. :heart2:

BUT, since you insist....

One of them is Cinnamon GCC who is a smushy, squishy, fluffy, love-bucket of a little girl squish ball, known to be unusually quiet. :swoon:

The other one is a Dusky Conure, also a girl, who is the cutest freakin thing that ever flew, majorly communicative with vocals, a real individual who likes her parronts at the rescue but NO ONE ELSE. But I like a challenge, soooo....

I really considered getting them both, but my husband wisely thought that we should start with one, and see how we all handle that, and then consider the other when/if the time becomes right. And honestly he fell in LOVE with one of them.

So ONE is coming home. And soon. She actually has her vet appointment in a few hours...and then the month and a half of quarantine...

Wouldn't it be easier to quarantine them both at the same time? Then you can see which one gets along better with Duckie. You've got an extra cage for now.

I'm sure the rescue would let you return whichever one didn't work out. :)

That is sound logic, and I thought of that too. However, my husband basically insisted on the one he fell for, and so we'll take her no matter what. I personally loved them both equally, so that was fine. Then if Duckie isn't so fond of the one, that gives us another reason to get the second one too. Plus they both seem quite happy at the rescue for now, and I've been told that no one has shown any interest in either of them...so we have time. And honestly, unless another bird were to seriously upset Duckie to the point that it wasn't good for her, there are no parrots that would be returned.

PS: No, at the moment we have just the one extra cage. Duckie's, and the new one. Until the one I just ordered comes in...

EDIT: HIM (Duckie is a HIM!)

You realize, that the reason we encourage you to get two, is so that those of us who quite often get two at a time, feel better about our loss of control. :wacky:
AHH! I see. ;)
