I have several medical issues that make it very hard for me to come up with delicious recipes that keep my bland diet from getting old.

I mean eating the same few things gets boring right?

So I've been working on these recipes for a few years now and everytime I come up with one... it goes in my recipe book "For the Birds"

Because everything I'm ALLOWED to eat... birds can eat... so why the heck not?

I'm going to start with an oldie but a goodie.

'Egg Rice'

Simple right?

Some egg...some rice... fried in a pan?

Well lets make it bird friendly shall we?

You will need....
2 eggs
a cup of already cooked rice.
Sweet peppers
Green Peppers
Cabbage/Spinach/ Mustard greens... about 1/4 a cup.
and a little black pepper to taste.

I use coconut oil to cook it all in.
Tossing the Rice, diced peppers and greens in until they are all well cooked.
THen add the eggs... stir it around... and you have a quick and easy mean for humans or birds ...
My little ones go nuts over this.

Second recipe for this go around...
Citrus Almond salad.

You will need...
Romaine lettuce
Spinach
Red cabbage
sweet peppers
Cucumber
Three small tangerine oranges
Slivered almonds
Finely shredded carrots

(For a dressing)

Black pepper
Cayenne Pepper
Lime Juice
Aloe juice
Coconut Oil

A BIIIG Bowel...
Shred the greens finely, add sliced or chopped cucumber; and diced peppers
Top with the oranges slices, carrots, and slivered almonds.

Mix the Aloe and coconut oil in a small dish, add pepper and lime to taste.

And you have a garnish that birds cannot get enough of... and all those tasty greens and veggies to boot.
Delicious for once again... people and Birds.

Those are my two recipes of the day as I made them this morning...
More will come soon enough!

This weeks Recipe..

Coconut Crisp tarts

This is a favorite of mine.

You will need...
Any gluten free flour.
2 cups
1/2 cup Coconut butter
1 egg
⅔ cup water (approx. depending on consistency - add a little at a time - not too wet, not too dry.)
2tsp honey

Berries; oranges... any sort of fruit you might like
and shredded organic coconut.

Cupcake tray& liners

You are going to fill the bottom of the cupcake liners with enough mixture to fill up 1/3 of the liner
Bake till brown and flaky...
Pop em out of the cupcake pan... put fruit on top and coconut..
Then pop in the fridge and at at your leisure.

Would this be something a diabetic could eat? I have relatives that I'm always looking for a "sweet" for

Ya Know I've not kept up with this?

I'll be adding on my bird friendly butternut squash soup in an hour or so.
