I came over to San Francisco as of about 11 days ago for a conference and a bit of a holiday with the other half. When planning the trip in December, we decided to risk an off season trip to Tahoe. I know April is a bit of a hit and miss weather wise, but one thing I thought I'd be well safe of was snow. Turns out nope.

Now your in my neck of the woods!:) Where are you staying? Yes, I can't wait for it to stop snowing. It's been a very crazy winter, :wacky:however snow in April is still pretty normal, albeit irritating.:meh: Beautiful pictures!:wideyed:

South Lake Tahoe at a place called Deerfield. It's super cozy. :) Here until Monday.

Is it really normal? I spent some time a little while ago looking up snow levels by day / week and it seemed to die off around March. Maybe dodgy data though. Definitely a lot more than I'm used to in the sub tropics.

Oh, Heavenly Valley. Nice! Yeah, the snow definitely dies off after March, but a snowstorm or two in April is not uncommon. (Except for the last four years of drought.) We can still get them in May or June, but that's more uncommon. I hope you gave a really fun time, and have fun seeing your birdies again when you get home!

Last night and today have been spectacular, so we took another drive. I think I'll come back one year after the summer peak to get in the hiking I missed this trip.

Tahoe isn't too far from where I'm at!!!

It really is gorgeous!!! But after since moving to Nevada (from California... I didn't move far!), I've hated the snow ever since! LOL
