My Maxi pionus would sleep on me once they decided I was OK, that was always a sign that they trusted me fully. Your not going to sleep around or on anything you don't trust and feel safe around.

Both our birdies (Miss Coco and Bo) sleep with their heads turned backwards and on one leg. Especially Bo, now that he’s a bit older, naps during the day.

And yes, it’s a sign of trust and familiarity when they do so in presence of humans.

I have never seen Tika sleep. (My wife has).

I had 1 lovebird that would fall asleep in the front v-neck of my shirt, or while I was holding him in my hands, on his back with his feet in the air! In a deep sleep too. One night I was watching a movie and fell asleep with him in the front of my shirt. All I could see was his tail and I gasped! When I did he jumped up and his head feathers were all sticking up like bedhead! Never did that again though!

She looks so comfy they really are beautiful birds, John....Freddy is starting to nap on his cage top when I am home and relaxing with him during the day. I can't wait until he will take a nap on my lap or while snuggling. I would just love that! He's getting over his molt, I think. He's been opening up to being touched again.
