A friend of mine has a few remarkable birds. I'm a big fan, but can't really own the kinds of animals she keeps myself as they seem better suited for a farm or some such than my house. :p

One of my favorites is a silver seabright hen she has called Almond. Named so for her feathers likeness to sliced almonds.

I don't have any pictures of her, but here is one of another such hen.

Aren't those feathers just amazing?
They're perfect for feather art! And luckily my friend has agreed to gather and keep the fallen ones for me to have, which is super kind. :D

She is a very visually appealing bird. <3

I actually got my friend to join the avenue, but she hasn't posted yet. :p
Hope she does because she owns some gorgeous pheasants as well.

Oh I love seabrights. They're so tiny and pretty. I think that the golds are my favourite. I considered getting some once but went with silkies instead since seabrights are supposed to have a rather flighty temperament.

I think that you'll find that Sir John Sebright is (well was) actually one heck of an artist ;)
