My quaker parrot got checked out by a vet about 4-5 months ago (he was plucking, hasn’t done it since), but right after he got checked out he developed a weird habit. He breathes normally, but will often make this audible exhale where he will make a “haaaaaaaaa” sound. I’ve noticed it almost smells bad when he does this, almost like a burp where it smells like his food but worse. It’s become more frequent, and I’m becoming a bit more worried. Also, he usually opens his mouth and tilts his head when doing this. I don’t know if i should go to the vet.

If the breath stinks, time for a vet. Crop infections or impaction are likely.

Absolutely. Crops can get all kinds of nasty bugs like yeast. Vet most likely will do a gram stain (swab of crop) and look at it under magnification. In the mean time you can get a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar with mother (unfiltered) and add to drinking water. 2 tsp. per quart of water. This is not a substitute for a vet exam.

Try the Apple cider vinegar ,,"BRAGGS " brand, but do tell the vet you are using it.
