I have a sick older cockatiel about 18. she has a respiratory infection and was wondering if its ok to put a warm humidifier by her cage?

Most likely yes but make sure the humidifier is clean. No mold or other nasties in it. Don't over humidify the air.
Has she seen a avian vet for antibiotics???
