Should we get a cat? How do we keep the birds safe?

One thing I can think of is to find a way that no one can enter your house and let the cat in when you have the birds out. Maybe a short chain lock or a big colorful sign that says the birds are out. Never get complacent and think that because the cat doesn't seem interested in the birds today that it never will be. Unexpected things can bring out the predator instinct.

Well, Rosetta, we have all now learned that putting cat and bird in the same sentence on a parrot site is like putting Trump and Obama in the same sentence, on a political one. Everyone digs their heels in.

You have gotten a mix of advice, encouragement, experiences, stale stereotypes, and along the way a few lectures thrown in. Nobody could ever accuse this post of being dull.
