You could maybe lower the platform to start with until they realise not to go over the edge of the platform... I don´t know if they would learn... Sorry if I´m not much help, I´m just throwing out ideas :)
You're always helpful! That's a really good idea honestly. I think I'll do that so they learn where everything is and how to avoid the edge before I raise it up again. You're so smart. :D

The platform has a rim about 1" high, though it's hard to tell in the photo. Hopefully they'll learn to recognise that as the edge.

I'm just worried the blind ones might fall off the edge while learning to traverse the cage. The bottom is padded to holy heck, but it's still a big fall for a little budgie.
Harley used to walk with her beak to the ground until she got used to how things were laid out, then she could maneuver like anyone else. Maybe once they get used to how its set up plan on only changing the toys' spots & leaving the structure the same for them?

Same. And birds are so smart...

Is there no one on the forum with a blind little bird? Budgie, lovie, plet etc?

edit:
@TikiMyn and @Birdbabe might be able to help with the cage :)

Howabouts do you mean? I'll take any and every idea!
Don't know, I'll have to look it up. Not my native language that... :D I mean life nets, like textile/net coming from under the platform and er... don't know how to explain that. I'll find a picture

@Zara is rope safe in this cage? A leg or neck could get twisted and caught in it.

What does the gang think about more rope perches on the ground?
And wouldn't paper rope be safer?

it is the first question.
Hi,
I've used Harrissons since I have my budgies but since my p'let died from them, I'm now very sceptical of build-ups so I'd like to try some variation. I've heard much good about Goldenfeast but they aren't available in my country so I'd have to importe them. We have Nutribirds B14 though, I don't know how they rate.
What do you use for your budgies?
After that we found out that Goldenfeast is actually meant for bigger birds, so wondering if anyone had given it to budgies without problems.

Paper rope would be good :)
I threaded beads onto adelies string thing so that she wouldn´t eat it or get tangled in it (she tangles easy with her bad foot). I can´t use any exposed rope for her, she get´s tangled :( (I´ll come back and edit a picture in from my mobile phone).

Edit:

I lowered it right down low so that if she falls she will be ok.

Maybe take some of the items out to make it a little less crowded so it is easier for them to get around and less overwhelming at first.
