So my baby lovebird that ive just had a week ago pooped black tar yesterday night. There are no avian vet around and none of the ones that take birds are open. Yesterday Melo was fine, he/she was still flying around, she is still in a small cage to get her used to cages. She still played with me ran around etc. Her pooped turned normal again but i still watched her. at 6 today i fed her and she is still very active. 30 mins later i saw her paralyzed. I panicked and checked her out. She started having seizures and i rushed to the vet. Im now on my way to the vet i dont know if the vet is even open. This is the vet that i usually go to for birds. Im scared i might loose her, ive just had her but i have bonded with her so much.

i cant stand seeing her like this. She is twitching and trying to breath, im making sure she doesn’t go. She is trying to stand but keeps slipping. She is a really active bird im scared she hit her head a few mins ago. Yesterday she also hit a wall (not too hard and she went back to chirping and playing a min later)

Keep calm and take her to the vet ASAP. That is the only thing you can do for her.
Cover her travel cage so she can travel in the dark to lower stress.
How old is she? Are you handfeeding her? Describe what you use and how you do it?

She is about 2-3 months old. She is currently weaning, i have handfed a lot of birds and i was told she was weaned. but she still get fed handfeeding formula. i use a syringe and i just drop little bits on her beak since she is not really a little baby anymore and im trying to get her fully weaned. This morning she didnt eat handfeeding formula she just ate softened pellets (mazuri).

So sorry about the loss, :( Based on what you were initially describing, it sounded like either she wasn't eating enough, or she ate something she shouldn't have.
