I'd never seen one in person before meeting Vinyet.
Vinyet is a pleasure to live with, but I haven't had her long yet so... I'm not really sure how to answer.
I've really only owned a budgie and a ringneck before and then tried to own an amazon and that didn't work out. She seems very like I remember having a tame parrot, but a bit flightier. She is scared of new things, new people and no bird I've owned or taken care of has been like that before. Some people have told me vasas are jumpier than other species so I'm not sure if that's why or if it's just her personality or both. She also doesn't like to step up all the time when asked and will let me know when she doesn't want something by whining. When she is really displeased or scared she makes a different, louder calling sound.
She also seems large and small at the same time. She looks big sometimes because her neck and legs are so long and her wings and tail are like...overlarge for her body. But then you hold her and realize how thin and lanky she is, how small her body is beneath her wings.

I imagine I'll have more to say in more time.
