She is beautiful! Good to see her still healthy enough to enjoy clowning about at 65. What an angel she is.
I so love seeing posts of Scallywags.

...so much for being a "respectful old lady!"

Just another example of why I love that lady...so spirited!

@FlyingMacaws I have not actually heard that older parrots can not pick up new things......do they really say that? All the older parrots I have known over the years were learning new things all the time. The same saying about dogs is totally wrong so I would not be surprised if ignorant people do say things like older parrots can not learn new things. People have much more to learn than they realize I think.

Scally really sounds like she is full of personality :)

I’ve heard a few times. Not in the forums but throughout time. It’s complete rubbish.
Case in point we had our Rhabbi the other week with his family and instead of her basic “Hello” she said “Shalom” it’s amazing how observant parrots are. Truly remarkable.

...it's an offshoot of "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"....which is also complete rubbish.

The fact is that that I believe older birds learn new things quicker than the younger birds...at least that's what I've found to be true by personal experience...
