Pictures Sandhill Cranes at Jasper-Pulaski

We went out to Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife area yesterday. Got lots of pictures of sandhill cranes, and some pretty cool vegetation. We heard the frogs in the little creek on the side of the walking path, and we spotted an old beehive. I also got a pretty good video of the cranes and some deer that were in the background!

Thanks It was absolutely gorgeous out! The sandhills start to leave around the 10th, so we caught them just in time! It was quiet too, except for the sounds of the birds' calling and gunshots from the range down the road. It's totally in the middle of nowhere, which is pretty nice.

Last year I was walking on a campus above Orlando, there are tons of live oaks with Spanish moss hanging from them. Such a serene, otherworldly scenario like @taxidermynerd described. It gets your imagination going. The cranes were flying around making their strange honk and this lady asked me what I was doing .... I said just waiting on the next pterodactyl to fly by. She said those are CRANES!!!! She totally didn't get it.
