Sad update on Christmas chicks

I went to check on mother hen in her nest today and there´s been an accident.

Unfortunately neither chick made it.
I notice the nest has been abandoned too.

I´m so sad. How awful Mother nature can be so cruel.

They were in the tree outside my window. She did well with them for so long, we had bad heavy rain and wind and she was there holding the nest down.
They have been hanging around here eating and just sitting. I don´t think they will nest in my tree again...
I posted about it here.
Also, I can´t go to the park because we´re not allowed out of the village.

I´ve been pretty bummed out since spotting the eggs broken. It´s really bothering me. I know these things happen in the wild, but still it´s just so sad

aww i'm sorry @Zara. i watched two pigeons out of my window look after their eggs then one morning they were just broken. i know how you feel
