I was looking at the online member list, and it said robots - 15 when saying who was on. What does that mean?

I th ink it is remote computers monitoring sites...it was explained to me once before and I do not understand it but apparently there are computers that monitor for key words etc...have no idea why..oh what a great help i am.

They are computers sent around the internet to basically catalog what content is here. They then send that information to the search engine (google, bing, etc) so that they can show up when someone does a search for a topic covered here.
