Ring toss training progress

Chickie got the most training attention today, next Big Scooter. Poor JoJo got shortchanged because during color recognition Chickie kept stealing the rings. He didn't get to play basketball, and did a little on skates. I'll make sure she is caged during his ringtoss training tomorrow but will let them play basketball together. And JoJo goes first tomorrow! @Macawnutz do you ever feel like one of your birds didn't get enough attention in a particular day? Rudy had zero training today. So many birds, so little time! And I'm trying to figure out what to treat Little Scooter with, he's allergic to nuts. oh he ca handle sunflower seeds so I'll get shelled sunflower seeds and cut them in half. He's going to be a quick study I feel! Off to order the sunnies.

Wow such smart birdies! Gotta love the color recognition trick. Parrots are such intelligent living beings. Clicker training seems like a good idea. I might give that a try!

No. My birds work two shows a day 6 days a week. They love days off! Lol

how to improve JoJo's attentio span @Macawnutz? He keeps wanting to be off the table and is distracted. Chickie is so focused! I think JoJo is bored with the rings.

he's after seed, his brain is focused on finding seed! So maybe I should let him eat a little bit of dry oats and seeds before sitting down for a training session.

thanks! I had this session recorded soon as I got home....my videographer had to go out for the evening. So JoJo is after Jackson's seed. I'll see if his concentration improves after a small snack of seed tomorrow.

trouble with color recognition

today JoJo insisted on running his rings over to a distant peg and putting them all on the same peg! He did some of the initial tosses okay but then started this distance retrieval process! Any tips appreciated!

It's a matter of getting more rights than wrongs and not rewarding for incorrect attempts.

Get a bit faster with your clicks on the correct colors. It needs to be as fast as possible when they get it right.
