No, don't worry about the surface right now. We want smooth. Are you looking at the funtime video? I do it a bit differently, we are going to throw out the suction cups.

Ok thanks Sarah. Today JoJo was dropping the ring on the peg and then yanking it off. I had to click the very instant he first got it on, and he dropped it to get the treat. Now he has gotten the hang of it. Still holding the peg in my palm.

I'm trying to get Chickie to learn the wiffle ball fetch trick, but she keeps leaning forward for the treat and ignores the ball. For JoJo I think i would touch his beak with the ball and click and treat until he started holding it. Sarah will advise us!

Hmmm, good question! My amazon could use the macaw ones. Could your little guy use the amazon ones? OMG, I don't have little birds.

I'll get a picture of my REALLY OLD skates today. They used to belong to Greg my late BG.

I've never seen his training video, let's not use it. If you go too fast and don't break the steps down as far as possible you can make a real mess.

he doesn't have a skate training video. he does have a Wings spread out video in which he pokes the birds chest near each wing and the bird hates it and opens his wings. JoJo hates that technique so we haven't made progress on that one. There has to be a gentler way! When the skates arrive we'll discuss the first step. This one is being taught under your guidance!

Chickie holds the ball for one nanosecond and releases it. All she is focused on is the treat. If i keep shoving it at her she ignores it. I'm hitting a brick wall. How do I scale it?

Stick a pine nut in the ball; make sure she sees you do it; Roll it to her and say "pick it up"; the second she picks it up say good and trade it for the reward.

yep! okay so how about big scooter who takes the ball and tears holes in it instead of giving it back to me? I'll try again tonight with pistachios instead of walnuts and see. If that doesn't work, I'll be aknocking at your door again!

Can you take it from him once he grabs it?

Either grab it from his beak saying "good" and rewarding him or open palm with a treat saying "drop it" to trade?
