So far JoJo is picking up the ring and dropping it in my hand carefully. Next i think i have to target the peg.

I don't know how I'm going to teach him to slide it on. The video I saw keeps the palm over the peg and eventually moves the palm out from under the ring at the very second the parrot is placing it in the trainer's palm. Looked easy but .....

The most difficult part is how they hold the rings. Look at the difference between Maui and the other two.

This is what I do for a living. All my birds say "this is serious!" If you get stuck let me know. The way Maui does it is the hard way. Hopefully Jojo does it like Kailua and Sakie, I always let them choose which way they prefer.

Hi Sarah, right now he is picking up the ring from a distance, bringing it to my hand in which I am holding the peg at the edge of the play top, positioning it right two times out of five, and dropping it on. I don't reward him for misses, and he keeps trying! When he gets good at it, I'll place my hand that is holding the peg on the play top surface and hope he connects the dots!

They are smarter than you think. Bet he knows what's coming.

I use "pick it up" "can I have it?" "Bring it to me" "hold it" and "drop it" for everything! So universal!

For real? I thought roller skates are impossible to teach! Plus they look so large and heavy! I like your phrases!

I found small skates, but it says it's an advanced trick.

Big Scooter takes the wiffle ball and chews chunks out of it. Rudy gets peeved having a ball shoved into his face and lunges at it and knocks it out of my hands! I ordered the skates!

Yes! When you get them put them out in plain sight for all the birds to see them and check them out if they want. Don't do any more than that for the first few days.

Looking forward to hearing how things go with the skates. Sophie has a Scooter but I don't see how I could get her to move it. I just push her around on it for a bit so she can go for a ride.

the vendor says the skates need a rough surface, not smooth. Should i get a thin piece of plywood to set on the playtop?
