Rest peaceful little roadrunner

I went my freind/ neighbor's house this morning to feed her feral cats. She recently had her pacemaker replacement..so I'm helping her...ok, I tolerate her cats,,,but, this morning I found a Male roadrunner head, leg and wing with other graphic parts...now, I know, cats are cats, and I'm pretty sure if he wasn't ill, or hurt, theres no way those cats would have gotten him. It upset me greatly, I dont know why I was so upset..,,but, I cleaned him up from the carport, and ( in tears) fed the cats, and then, buried his remains in my back yard. I wont tell her, I dont even know why I'm telling you all..he was so beautiful..I'm so sad.

Finding a dead bird is upsetting enough. Seeing him the way he was would upset any of us. Thank you for caring for him.

I think I was sad, because he reminded me of " Beep"..Beep was our resident roadrunner at Liberty wildlife, he attached himself to me for some strange reason..he would bring me gifts,,leaves, feathers, twigs, and mouse tails he would hop up on my arm and purr to me. The day he went to the rainbow bridge, we all cried like a bunch of big babies.

That makes a lot of sense. I love all critters, but I have the biggest soft spots for those that remind of the ones that were special to me.
