Rehomed bird symptoms

I've looked and not found anything on rehomed bird symptoms as such. I've not had any like Dim has. He has diarrhea and drinking a lot of water. While they go hand in hand, I just wanted to check till I can get him to the vet. I'm sure his stress level has much to do with this as well.
He seems a picky eater, yet...stress.
It would awesome if we could have a type of 'what to expect or what may see or happen' pin not just behavior. If there is one & I missed it, can you please show me?
I'm well aware of the honeymoon...I'm looking for healthwise symptoms, not behavioral...does this make sense?

These are symptoms of liver/kidney issues. Probably due to bad diet for a long period of time.

I've brought home 4 birds over the years and never had any with diarrhea

I've not had a bird come to me with the runs. I agree that it sounds like an illness or infection.

That could also be a sign of diabetes....

My first conure had polyuria, but no clear indication as to why... his blood work wasn't "normal", but likewise, nothing indicated that he was sick with anything either...

My other birds never displayed this, including other conures.

Thank you for taking in this little one.

Bloodwork at the vet should include blood glucose (diabetes), uric acid (kidney function) and liver enzymes (fatty liver or other problems) to rule out some of the big causes of diarrhea. Also important to test for infectious diseases, since some can also cause symptoms like these.

You might want to prepare yourself for the treatment being a long and possibly expensive commitment. None of the most likely diseases have an easy fix. :(

Hmm. Is he eating the same diet as before? Maybe it's due to a food change or even extra veggies compared to before?

Also there have been romaine lettuce and egg recalls lately, depending on where you live.

His stool is back to normal bird poo . His apt is on Monday. He is eating and drinking just fine. So for about 2 hrs. It was clear liquid right out of him & now normal. Acting just fine as well. Maybe it is something he ate?

We have rescued dozens of FID's over the years and some with your issues. Usually stress and diet issues, only one that was actually sick and needed vet attention. Once they get onto a healthy diet and accustomed to his new home things always got better. Probably nothing to worry about but a vet check is always recommended for new birds especially rescues/re-homed birds.

Doesn't look unusual. Solids, urates, liquid. Diarrhea has no solids. No separation between them. Blob of mush basically. And you need to see it consistently over a period of time.

I'm watching extra careful. Yesterday it was all liquid.

It's not diarrhea but it does look really polyuric. Has that calmed down?

Secret had a raunchy diet for years, vet now has her on medicine.

Glad the bird fell into the hands of someone that can take them to the vet.

My sennie, who is a rescue, had the same symptoms when we brought him home - not mushy, but solids with a lot of excess liquids. Weirdly, the condition comes and goes, with no real connection between feeding him a diet of dry pellets or veggies/fruits. His lab work has been negative for health problems.
