Hi I have been hand feeding lovebirds for a while now to make into quality pets, because I feel like people don’t have enough as actual pets. But besides the point of that I have 4 babies under 2 weeks old and there is one that has severe redness and stiffness in neck. When I tried to hand feed it this morning I saw the nape swell up with I assume food? I didn’t want the poor guy to starve but now I’m worried that was the wrong move. I have no idea why this has happened, I’ve never had this problem before. Can you guys give me advice or at least tell me what’s wrong with it.

Definitely needs a vet to take a look.

The redness could be dehydration, but the swelling is not normal at all and I have never seen that before.

Sorry, I see this post is now 20 hours old, so hopefully you already have been to the vet.
