Thanks so much. This is the first time I have ever received one in tact with it's leaves. They usually melt, which gives them a rough start, or they don't make it at all.

Are they hard to keep alive and grow once acclimated? Or is it just shipping that is hard for them?

I have found lotus to be one of the harder to keep plants on the 'easy' list. Keeping aquatic plants is a balance of nutrients, ferts, and lighting. You have to give the plants enough so they grow, and keep algae at bay. Goldfish are good and bad for plants. Their respiration puts out a lot of CO2, and they are messy so the waste is there for the plants to uptake the extra nitrate. But, goldfish like to eat plants, so selection of the right plants is important. Some goldfish like comets, might eat all plants. This as I said, is my last addition. I don't want to start back on my collectoritis as I did in the past with planted tanks. In this case, I think less is more.A few species allowed to grow big will look better than filling up the tank with a lot of different ones.

Thank you GG & Victoria. I am doing a water change this morning, and will get new pics. No bloom open yet on the other plant, but I was told it could be purple by someone..that would be cool.
